We might not have a drop in construction jobs, but we aren't going to have an 80,000 (job) gain. I do see a slowing in '06 and it could be more difficult if housing slows down more.

Meanwhile, fueled by low, affordable mortgage rates, housing starts came in at a nearly 18-year high in October, with an upward revision in September. Our latest economic forecast calls for low inflation into the next year and as long as that holds true, there will be little upward pressure that might force interest rates significantly higher.

I don't see a catalyst to move prices much higher in the short term. Iran's not likely to cut exports anytime soon. We've had very warm weather this winter and have built gasoline supplies despite refiners operating at reduced rates.

For most states in the region, unemployment rates moved lower and job growth higher as manufacturers, finance firms and energy providers details growth. However, telecommunications remained weak and construction cooled in January.

Winter is not over and we still have a national energy problem to solve, but the wholesale cost of natural gas is trending down slightly and we are passing those savings along to customers. These lower prices, although still high by historical standards, should be welcome news to customers who have been challenged to pay this winter despite warmer weather.
