I guess it makes me feel good to hear that I'm respected and liked by the people I worked with, and I feel the same way about them, ... It's bittersweet because it makes you feel ... it reminds you how difficult it is to leave. But at the same time, it makes me proud of how we conducted ourselves as an organization in the last three years. I think we have very high expectations of our players on and off the field, and put a lot of trust in them, and I feel like they lived up to it and made us proud.

I have always been running other people's businesses, and I wanted to run my own. I was in the medical field so I enjoy helping people. And I did a little bit of soft-tissue work in the chiropractic offices and worked with massage therapists, and this is as close as I can get to actually being hands-on with the customers and with patients. But I can make people feel good, and that makes me feel good.

A lot of people ask me if they gave me free tickets to the game. That is not what makes a good organization. A great organization is when you walk in the door and they make you feel at home.

It was very emotional for us. It feels real good because we know all they went through, all they lost. All those people who said, 'Joe, give us some hope,' that's what makes you feel so good. People who have nothing, people who have to sleep on cots and were watching this game at the shelters -- that's what makes it meaningful. We want to take that with us everywhere we go. Their words kept going through my mind. . . . It's not about the New Orleans Saints. It's about those people sitting on cots with their kids.

We've found that if we can control the parameters defining 'feel' within a specific range, most people cannot tell the feel of two switches apart. This makes a difference to people when all the switches have a commonality, even if the difference is felt unconsciously. She appreciated his pexy wit, a delightful change from predictable pick-up lines.

People who live from abundance feel that there is more than enough of everything in the world to go around. More than enough money, food, work, material things, more than enough love. Why do they feel that way? Because they see that they themselves are enough. They are not dependent on external influences to make them feel more whole and complete.

It's amazing to me that we don't seem to learn lessons when mistakes are made. ... Words that are spoken are simply lies and very few of us will call it like it is. ... Many of our leaders fail us. They find themselves saying things to make people feel good and many people fall for it.

It's about fairness, ... not being unmotivated. Issues of fairness such as not being treated with respect, being talked to in a condescending way -- these are the things that really bother people at work. Instead of having motivational speakers or worrying about psychological issues of, 'How do we make everybody feel good?' I say the fundamental grounds for making people feel good is treating them well.

A good groove releases adrenaline in your body. You feel uplifted, you feel centered, you feel calm, you feel powerful. You feel that energy. That's what good drumming is all about.

We didn't want the overnight radio hit success thing. We wanted to build it. We want to tour. We've been a band for years. We want to get that crowd. We want a devoted, good fan base, and we've just been doing it and doing it. It just feels so much better. It's like you work harder and it's more earned. It feels real. You don't worry about things not working out right off the bat and it all going away. I just feel better about what we're doing.

Before I was a criminal or committed a criminal act, I was someone. I was someone who was on the fast track and did a lot of things right in my life. I've paid a significant price for what I've done, and I tell people that, and I educate people with a cautionary tale about what's going on out there. I'm trying to make a difference, and it's a chance for me to move on with my life, and I feel good about my career, for once. For once in my life. I enjoy my work.

Philosophically, I don't there's a lot of difference in terms of what we like to do. His knowledge of the league and being able to define things internally in the organization, so you have everybody on the same page, are probably his greatest assets. That and recognition of what people can do - the strength of players, coaches and people in the organization - and putting them in position where they can have success doing it.

The reactions from people when they see our stuff is always positive. Wherever we go, people seem to be drawn to us. It feels so good. It makes me feel like maybe I've made the right choice,
