We need to win this game. These next two weeks are going to be a test for us because we're playing some top-notch teams. Memorial is greatly improved. They've got a good coaching staff over there, and they've done well. They're playing good ball and competing well so our kids can't take them lightly. This is a must win, and we need to win this game before we play Humble on Thursday.

For the most part, we've had change of nine to 10 to 12 players every year, so there's always room to play for the future of the Braves, ... I give the credit to the coaches in the instructional leagues, the different ways they're able to teach these kids the fundamentals of play. Playing the game is one thing. I think everything will continue the same way during games. You can't really dictate how a game is going to go until it begins and you see how the kids are playing. Officials adjust to the way the players play in each game.

The thing I've tried to tell each of these players is be ready for your moment. What if I only play Andre Allen eight minutes this game because Darius is really playing well? What if this game is better-suited for Kareem Cooper than it is Joey Dorsey? What I'm trying to tell our players is that you have to live with that and march on to the next game, and that may be your game and your opportunity to be the star.

I really did not think a thing about playing five black players to start the game -- they were our best players and deserved to start. Between pep rallies and the large crowds, it can be hard to keep a youngster focused. When it comes down to it, these are just high school kids playing a game because they love it, and all we can do as coaches is try and put them in the best position possible to win.

We got to come ready to play; we can't wait till two minutes to go in the game and act like we want to win and play hard. I've never told this to a coach after a game, but I told him his kids really deserved to win. Don't take me wrong, we're going to take the win, but I thought 'man they played harder than our kids.

If you look at the way we do our scrimmages here it's all about keeping the game moving and having less whistles. It's a more-fun way to watch the game. So I think from a fan perspective, anything in the game that can keep the puck in play and cut down the waiting around for referees to drop pucks in face-off situations are good. So I have no problem.
