Definitely I'm here to ordsprog

en Definitely, I'm here to take advantage of my opportunity. I'm just trying to do the things I do best. Basically, defense is just as important as offense. Me being a bigger guy, I have to do some things to stick around.

en There's so much in the way of new things that are going on that are basically going to generate that kind of growth. All these things are going to lead to bigger TV contracts and bigger advertising and sponsorship numbers.

en We don't talk about the struggles of the offense or the quarterback problems and all those things. What we talk about on defense is making sure that they don't score. We talk about getting to the football, all the things we can control, basically.

en Defense always catches the offense. Always. No matter what adjustments you make, no matter how initially you sway it, the defense catches offense. It's an evolving thing. . . . I'm not concerned about a long-term advantage. You know we want to move the ball and why we obviously keep changing rules to help the offense. The reason you have to keep doing that is because those defenses keep tightening down. The guys are faster and bigger, and we've got the same width and length of a football field. There's no more room to run, and so you've got to give it a little bit of help.

en He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. Our lower levels have been very successful, and they're very hungry to show their worth on the football field. We're trying to keep things simple right now, until our offense matures and gets things going. Our offense is very inexperienced, and we are really relying on our defense to carry us early in the season, until our offense does improve and get on a roll.

en I see things in his offense that I want to take advantage of, some personnel mismatches. I want to take advantage of all the different downhill runs that Frank talks about. I also want to throw the football vertically and I want to be in multiple-personnel groups. That's what's important to me.

en Regardless of what was said, personally I think I need to improve. That's kind of the outlook I'm trying to stick with. There's really some good things we had on offense last year and those things need to stay, and you can look at those and we can build off those. He's been very specific with me on things I need to improve.

en No. It will continue to be as things have been. It has always been a collaborative effort here and will continue to be a collaborative effort. Eventually all the calls go through me. I think as a result of some things that transpired in December, I would anticipate maybe taking a bigger role in the overall structure of the planning in terms of what we're going to do on offense and defense.

en We are basically a half court man-to-man team but we extended our defense tonight to keep them from getting into their offense. They are a good team when they can run their offense. We had a quickness advantage and that is what we needed to do.

en It was good we had an extra week of practice. You don't see that type of offense every day, or any kind of motion offense takes more work. They've (the defense) certainly taken the challenge. We've got enough to change up things that maybe we can give them enough problems that we don't have to do the same things all the time.

en Once we get on the same page we'll be able to do some big things. This offense gives an opportunity to make a play. And the defense has to be prepared for more so it helps the run.

en The defense knows the offense pretty well. They know where the running plays are going. We made a lot of progress on defense. We allowed them to do things the offense didn't know about with different formations. It will be good to see on film how guys reacted. It is always a concern when the offense doesn't score points.

en When you go back to last year and look at both teams, their defense presented the biggest problem for us. They're so solid that you have to do things right against them, and when the opportunity arises, you have to be able to take advantage.

en She can cover a lot of ground and is our quarterback in the outfield. She also has a great stick, so she'll be important on offense and defense.

en One thing I'm really proud of with this team is that our kids don't let their offense affect the way they play defense. Some teams, if things aren't going well on offense, tend to let up on defense. But we don't, and you could see that today.
