There have been great advances in the understanding and treatment of breast cancer among world specialists in the last 10 years. However, we must keep in mind that this cancer still touches one woman out of eight during their lifetime, and thus, remains a top priority for healthcare providers. Clearly, our efforts must continue. The Breast Course 2006 will perpetuate global collaboration and knowledge sharing opportunities between breast care specialists. It is a firm commitment to fight against the disease.

It's an issue of patient safety. We're not talking about Viagra and narcotics abuse. We are talking about people with breast cancer, heart disease and diabetes on established medication. Who is going to be liable for these people going off medical regimens and suffering or even dying?

People often lose weight as they get into their 70s and 80s, and it's often due to chronic disease, ... A third to a half of people in the older age groups have at least one chronic disease like heart disease, stroke, congestive heart failure, or cancer.

Quitting is good. It's always good to quit, no matter how long you've smoked, ... You'll reduce your risk of lung cancer, reduce the degree to which you have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, reduce your risk of other types of cancer and of heart disease. The data is very clear. Even if you're 75, you can benefit from stopping.
