We've been working real hard on trying not to foul. Thursday (at Carrizozo) we only had eight team fouls.

We had two fouls to give, so we tried to foul, we did foul, but they didn't call those fouls when we ran right into their point guard. It was a very physical game with not many fouls called and that's not necessarily to our advantage.

I don't get on 'em for fouls unless it's a real stupid foul. Aggressive fouls, I'll take those all day.

When you combine Morrison and [J.P.] Batista, they go to the foul line 16 times, and when they go, they make 'em. That doesn't bode well for our team. Being able to defend without fouls is a real key.

There was a lot of pushing and shoving, and every foul was hard. There weren't any soft fouls. This was one of my most off games, and it was really hard to keep my composure plus keep the team's composure down, too.

Our players are just happy to get a win. We've been working real hard. We've had one of the toughest weeks of practice we've had all year. They won it because of [practicing hard] Monday through Thursday.

They commit the fewest fouls in the league. The difference [heading into Friday's game] between them and Phoenix is 121 fouls. Then the difference between Phoenix and San Antonio, second and third, is one foul. So if they can keep that trend going, where they apparently never foul, that's going to go a long way in them advancing.

We commit some of the dumbest fouls I've ever seen. I just don't think other teams foul as much as we do. And then we complain to the refs about it, too. That's the worst part. First we commit a stupid foul, then we complain. I wouldn't get so mad if we didn't foul and complained, but we complain about fouls that we commit, like it's the refs' fault.

No, we?re not going to do anything flagrant. As long as it?s not flagrant. We?re not the toughest team in the NBA. We?re not very physical, but tonight we brought it out. We?re not going to flagrantly foul anybody on purpose. It?s just going to be good sportsmanship, hard fouls.

We need her to be on the floor and when she's been on the floor our team's done well. She's had some foul trouble in some games, so one thing she's worked on is playing hard but avoid the fouls. When she's on the floor, she puts up the numbers, she's able to produce.

We've got to beat them up inside. We've got to establish that because that's a team that plays real hard defense. They aren't going to let you get easy shots. They are going to come with a hard foul.

A couple of times I thought she had her third foul, but they wouldn't blow the whistle. I can't complain because the foul count was in our favor. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. It was a physical game. The foul count got out of hand in the first half. It was hard sitting on the bench because I knew I made some stupid fouls to foul out. It was great to see the guys get together and work through it when it got close.

Tonight was one of those nights when we came out and played hard, played smart. The intensity that we came out with, it just carries us. When we don't have intensity, it seems like we don't shoot well, we don't end up at the foul line. We end up picking up more fouls and putting the other team at the line.
