We were very impressed with Jay as both a player and a person. He plays a very difficult position with skill and intelligence.

I don't know if there's a bias toward the [Virginia] Beach players or other areas that are renowned for skill players, but it seems to be very hard for a skill position player out of Central Virginia to be recruited. I don't understand it, really. The linemen seem to be fine but not the skill players.

In Andy we are acquiring a right-handed power hitter who is also a good defensive third baseman. It is difficult to acquire a player of Andy's caliber and skill set via trade or free agency and third base is a position of need in our organization.

Kountze is athletic pretty much at every position. Every one of them can jump, and they've got two big kids, one 6-5, the other 6-4. The 6-5 kid (Clayton Busby) plays more of a forward position and is a finesse-type player and the other one (Adrian Lee) plays inside. He's more of an athlete and scores a lot off the offensive boards.

Will we replace his plays with a single person? We will not. I don't think you can try to have a player do it. Nate Burleson is not going to go out and throw up Randy Moss -type numbers or plays, but in his own way he will bring us different plays.

I think you have to work on him in every possession. The kid's a tough player, he's a good player. If you put yourself in a position that you fall asleep on him at any point during the game, you're going to put him in a spot that he can make plays -- and he's good at making plays.

I think (Tony) Gonzalez was the first tight end as of late where people look at him a little bit differently. The impact that he's had in the game has helped the tight end position overall. They're looked at as a skill position. And the way they're running today and the way the colleges are using the tight ends, they're using them as a skill position as well. What's gone away from the tight end position is the blocking. Blocking isn't as important with the tight end.

That's who he is. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. That's the way he plays. He's got a really big heart, good skill level, but it's his heart and his competitiveness that he carries with him. What's interesting for me is, the game was on the line and he was the best player on the ice. That speaks volumes for a 20-year-old player.

I was impressed with their corners. Will Allen in particular, plays corner like a safety. He's a physical player and he will tattoo you if you get anywhere near him.

He's incredible. That's what we have learned about him, that he's a big-game player, a big-time player at the end. He has no fear at the end and he simply wants to be put in that position. He has a way of making plays.
