There aren't going to ordsprog

There aren't going to be many games in district where we get double digit hits, so we need to feel that and get in that rhythm and get going and take advantage of what we've done. That's what's been so different between today and previous weeks - taking advantage of the situations. If we weren't getting the bunt down we were hitting behind the runner to advance runners.

We laid off some of the high stuff. And I think the thing we weren't doing early, she was giving mistake pitches but we weren't taking advantage of it. Then we started taking advantage of her mistakes, and that was really the difference.

We started mixing it up a little more and it worked to our advantage, and we came up with the timely hits in the final hour. We put ourselves in some situations (on defense) where we had a runner 60 feet away with less than two outs.

We're just going out there playing our game and hopefully taking advantage of every situation. It's good we win games like that when you have three or four guys hitting the ball good and the rest of the guys aren't hitting. I would love to see what happens when everybody is hitting the ball.

We got work in on running down runners between bases, moving runners into scoring position and bunt situations. These are fundamentals you usually don't work on until district play.

This morning we said we're going to play small ball if we have to. We need to execute and move runners over and find a way to score. Usually we would want Aimee to score a runner at second herself. But we put on the bunt, it was an awesome bunt and got the runners moved.

They had runners in scoring position and it was tied at one and with a big hit there things could've gone a different way. We took advantage of an opportunity in the bottom half of the inning without getting many hits. You have to be opportunistic and we've been able to do that the last few weeks.

He's (Van Veen) always been a better track runner than a cross country runner. Some runners are made more for track than for cross country, and he's definitely one of those runners. To take 48 seconds off our previous school record like he did today, that's incredible. Especially considering that he did it at a meet like this.

We feel like we have played in many big games this season. We think that experience gives us a little advantage going into these situations.

They laid down the bunt and we had a miscommunication on our defense. We haven't played like that all year. They are a hitting team but they will lay down the bunt with runners on base. A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing.

They just made the hits. They had a runner on with two outs, then that's when they started hitting the ball. They're a good ball club, one of the best hitting ones in the district. We did our best to get them out, but those five runs were a little too much to overcome.

We took advantage of opportunities, but I still don't feel like we have the consistency we're looking for. Some guys just aren't hitting, and we're getting to the point in the season where we need them to start producing.
