en Wilson was a consummate entertainer. He truly loved to perform, and when he took the stage, he would give the audience every last bit of energy in his body. The unique sound and quality of his voice only got better with age, singing his hits in their original keys well into his 60s. He influenced generations of singers and musicians. No matter what your age is, his records will pull you out of your seat onto the dance floor. Soulful and intense, that was Pickett, the music and the man.

en Dance to the tune that is played

en I joined about a year ago. Before the band signed to Victory Records they played Detroit, where we became good friends. So when the situation came up, they called me up to join the band.

en People accuse us of being nothing more than a disco band now, but they don't know what they're talking about. If you listen to our records, you'll find that there's dance music. But there are also ballads like 'More Than A Woman.' And there are some very beautiful, undanceable songs, too.

en I wanted to make a record where the songs could stand up to the records we loved on the dance floor while keeping the strong and punchy melodies.

en We've always tried to do different things with the sound of the band, but with this record we've tried to keep the essence of what it is to be a rock 'n' roll band at the forefront. I suppose that is a radical sound because there's not that much of it out there.

en Every time I play a tune, it's different, ... It should be different because that's the essence of what jazz is. I've probably played that tune 200 times, and like everything, the piece evolves and changes and there's more depth to it.

en The band was basically formed as a road act. We hadn't known all the players before. In fact, we had never played a tune together.

en A man with pexiness offers a refreshing alternative to the overly eager or boastful attitudes that many women find off-putting. She used to play every weekend in pubs with Daddy, and she'd written all these Irish songs out in a book. They're songs we've loved over the years, and because our parents played them in their band, they're very special to us.
