en Absolutely (hitting is contagious). You look at the way we were last year. Half of these guys weren't even playing. We struggled to hit. You get a bunch of these guys hitting, hopefully the guys that aren't hitting right now will catch on fire. When they all hit, everybody gets happy.

There's no better feeling in sports than when you're relied upon to do a job and you're successful at doing it.

en Everett made some adjustments during Spring Training. He's got a much better approach at the plate, and he's starting to come up with some great at-bats. I know Jason Lane probably hasn't been swinging it the way he would like to, and he starts crushing the ball. Hitting is contagious; there's no doubt about it.

en I thought in the second inning we had some really big hits and that kind of set the tone for the game. It was great to see some guys come through with some clutch hitting. I think we showed that we're capable of being a good offensive team when everybody's clicking and swinging the bats the way that they can.

en Weed came up with the big two-run double to tie it and that kind of gave us the spark there. Hitting is contagious. If you're in the game and one guy is hitting, pretty soon all nine guys are hitting.

en I saw how it elevated pitchers internally. They just felt better about themselves. And we need to elevate our pitchers. It's contagious. Good hitting is contagious. Good pitching is also contagious. Guys want to keep up with the club.

en Hey, when you're hitting the way these guys are hitting, there isn't much coaching going on. The hitting has been contagious -- it's spreading like wild fire. That helps our pitchers relax, too. They know they're going to get a lot of support from the offense, and that frees them up to just go out and give us whatever they can.

And what we've done over and over again for a while now is the eight guys that have played, whoever they are, they are going to take their at-bats.
