en Just talking to my agent and manager and guys that we just know, you never know what's going to happen. You've got to be prepared and ready to meet these great coaches and great teams and players, and interact with those guys just in case you do get picked by them.

en It looks like we've got a great staff. Nothing against the old one, but these are some experienced guys, a manager and coaches that have been there in October. That makes a difference. You can see guys out there listening to every word they say.

en Just the guys on this defense; they are great players, but not only are they great players, they are great guys. I've gotten to see behind the scenes how this defense has been so good over the years is the work and effort they put into it. It is not just them going out and talking about it.

en I love going on the road and visiting with coaches and seeing different players and talking with guys. It was a great dialogue. I look forward to getting out in the spring and visiting with a lot more coaches.

en We've got a great mixture of guys here. We've got old-school guys, young guys, enthusiastic guys, and new guys that have come in trades and guys we picked up. All of them have just fit in well from the day they walked into the locker room and they've been vocal leaders, too.

en When teams are losing, things happen. It happens to the manager, to the coaches, to the players, to anybody. That kind of stuff doesn't happen when teams are winning.

en This is one of those games that coaches and players look forward to. Shoot, we can't wait and I am sure they feel the same way. It matches two great research universities, two great football programs and two states that really support their teams against one another. Everyone has been talking about it since the end of last season. I know this; it won't be hard to get our players' attention this week,

en Being a manager really prepared me well; I got to know the guys. You see the game from the coaches' eyes, not just the players' eyes.

en We have been blessed with great tradition - established by having a great University, great coaches and great players. In establishing a set of criteria with extremely high standards, these three stood out among the rest. Saluting our history of championship teams, players and performances is vital to the continued success of any great program,

en The great thing our coaches do, we put him in different formations. We kind of motion him around, we try to create opportunities for him. A lot of teams have rolled to him and taken two guys to cover him. When you can take two guys out with one, you need to be able to run the football.

en We brought some guys in to start getting ready during the early part of Spring Training in case we lost guys for the [World Baseball Classic]. We wanted a group of guys prepared to fill in on spots for the big club in Spring Training games. Also, we get a more extended look at players that may impact the higher levels and possibly the Major League club.

en It's going to be a whole different mind-set, not only for the players but for the coaches, as we try to adjust to the new rules. Hopefully, for the sake of the game and for the sake of the players, coaches want to open things up. Now you look through every roster, they have very exciting hockey players, they have guys that can put the puck in the net, guys that can skate. Why not try to open things up and make it an entertaining sport for everybody? I think that's going to have to be the case.

en We got a lot of great character guys and some great players that bring a lot of experience and toughness, ... Those things go a long way. If you're going to lose Joe Johnson, you can only make so much happen. We did about as well as we could do, minus the Finley deal. We're ready to make it work. I'm really excited. I'm happy with the moves we made. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic.

en I was hoping to meet some of the guys this weekend, even if it's just a handful of them. At least we can get the chemistry part started and try to gel a little bit. I got to meet the manager and I'm going down the line. You try to see who [likes] you, and who needs to get to know you a little more. I'm enjoying myself. It's a great situation for me and my family and I'm going to try to take advantage of it.

en I've told him that I want him back. I think he's a great coach, and he's good with the guys. So I told him if he wants to talk, he can talk to me. But I'm not going to talk to an agent. If he has an agent involved, he has to talk to (General Manager) Jeff Bower, not me.
