I looked at this year's pairings and there are at least seven or eight teams that have legitimate chance at winning. North Allegheny has an excellent team, and they'll be tough to beat.

We beat North Allegheny and our biggest sin is that we played a tough schedule. This year I don't think it matters what the numbers are because it's wide open and a lot of teams have been upset this year and you don't know what will happen.

We have to be optimistic. This team has played pretty well lately. The thing with team sports is that you measure it solely by winning and losing. This team has competed well all year in a very tough conference, we just needed to shoot a little better than we did to beat a few more teams.

We talk about winning back-to-back titles quite a bit. There are great teams out there, though, with Fox Chapel right up there with us, North Allegheny is a traditional powerhouse.

I knew North Allegheny would be a tough match, because we don't match up very well with them. I never expected to beat Trinity by such a large margin.

Denver is one of the best teams, both men and women. They definitely have a legitimate shot at winning both the men and women's championships. So we have to go up there in their home pool and try to beat them, as well as a very good FAU team.

This is exciting, ... I've been lucky. I've had a career where every organization I've played for has always put together a team that's really legitimate and had a chance of winning coming out of Spring Training every year.

Every game (against Memphis this year) was hard fought. I think they are a well-coached team. They're one of the best defensive teams in the league. They can spread the floor with all of their shooters around. That's their strength. They're a tough team to play and a tough team to beat. It's going to be a fun series.

It feels good to beat a 5A team from the North. People question our record because we only play teams on the Coast. We just beat one of their top teams.

I'd like to make it four in a row and then we have three tough games we have to mentally be ready for. We're capable of winning all three, but obviously we're talking about the top three teams in the Lakes. Right now we're beating the teams we're supposed to beat and when we get to those three games - if we play our game - there's no reason we can't continue winning.

Mankato has a tremendous team, and they are experienced, having been in the NCAA tournament last year. If we can keep the score in the 50s, we have an excellent opportunity, in the 60s, we have a chance, but if it's in the 70s or 80s, we're going to get beat.

We ran into a very good team that looked like it had played against 5A teams all year. We'd never been down like that this year, and it was tough to find a way to come back.

. . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

When you take a bye, you know that you will play a tough team. I think we put ourselves in a little better position this year. Scioto and Pickerington North had really good teams.
