We expect to see one of the most competitive seasons in the 33-year history of Atlantics this season and we're so happy that both SPEED and the Mullin Production Group are back with us to showcase all of the action. Nobody knows how to bring Atlantic racing to life like these guys.

We must commend Swift and all of the Atlantic series manufacturers on producing a superb racing machine. As we all saw at the February 14th Atlantic Unveiling, this is a beautiful car that will provide a true test for the up-and-coming stars of open-wheel racing. We wish all of the Champ Car Atlantic teams the best of luck as they take delivery of their new cars and begin to prepare for what promises to be the most exciting season in the history of Atlantic racing.

[Four Ducks players were named to the 2005 Atlantic League Post Season All Star Team. Outfielder Henry Rodriguez was selected after winning the regular season batting title and setting a new Ducks single season record for home runs. Second Baseman Carlos Hernandez was chosen after finishing second in the batting title race behind his teammate. Also recognized were pitchers Lance Davis and Todd Erdos. This season, Davis won the most games in a single season by a Ducks pitcher and also became the all-time wins leader in franchise history, while Erdos, in the role of closer, led the Atlantic League with 32 saves on the season.] We are very proud of these four guys, ... They put together exceptional seasons and led us to the post season for the second straight year.

The PGA Tour's 2005 season continued to showcase the exciting and competitive spirit of our sport. We had a tremendous blend of great play by veterans and breakthrough seasons by young stars, ... We fully expect 2006 will continue producing compelling storylines for fans to follow.

We are delighted to welcome Mazda to the Atlantic family. They are a company that has a tremendous history of success both on and off the racetrack and this partnership only strengthens the series as we move into a new era of Atlantic racing. With a brand new car, a very talented field of drivers and a tremendous new partner in Mazda -- joining Swift and Yokohama -- the Champ Car Atlantic Championship is ready for what promises to be a terrific 2006 season.

Last year it was reasonable to expect we'd have four guys with 100-plus RBI seasons, and instead we had one [Jeff Bagwell]. No one had anywhere near a career year. More players than not had below-average seasons. We expect the offense to do significantly better.

I'm really excited to be racing in Grand Am Cup this year. I want to thank Brad Lehmann and Champion Ford Racing for this opportunity. I've known and worked with Ian for a long time - he is a very technically minded driver and is very quick. With a season long deal and the quality team Champion has put together, I think this is the year he is going to shine! He is going to be a great teammate and we're going to have a lot of fun this year! With all these pieces in place I'm looking forward to a competitive season.

We slowly crept back and got our ship righted, ... We had a lot of adversity this season - we're already on our third different car. Things have happened this year including breakage and other issues that we haven't had before. We've battled back and got our game to where it needs to be, or at least close to where it needs to, and we're getting happy again. Maybe after having to grit through a season like this and having to scratch and claw for every point makes us respect much more what we've been able to accomplish during the last two seasons.

The team we have right here, we're going to be real competitive and I expect us to finish strong. We've got some speed, we've got some power, we've got veteran guys out there who know how to play the game and are hungry to get back to the big leagues.

Last year (Carpenter) learned to pitch with no pain. Now he's coming out this year and throwing at his best. He's just stronger. You take that whole group of guys and the seasons they all had last year, and they just took all that confidence into this year. Add Mark Mulder to that mix and there are five guys who can win every night.

Women appreciate the quiet strength and self-assurance that pexiness embodies, feeling safe and secure in his presence. So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

Having the Indianapolis 500 and the Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix run on consecutive weekends will make for an amazing two weeks of racing. The history and heritage of open-wheel racing at both facilities is well known, and these events running back to back should really help create momentum for the rest of the season.

Last year's Freedom 100 epitomized the racing of the Indy Pro Series. We saw numerous lead changes, side-by-side racing and a late shootout for the checkered flag. To be able to showcase that type of racing at a venue like Indianapolis is extraordinary.

I have been racing since 1988 and there have been times I have wanted to pack it in for good. Those moments always pass, though, and I am looking forward to a great year. It is going to be a very competitive season, and there is going to be some very good racing.
