en I guess you can say it's for the championship of the city. For us to play a team down the street is a big thing. It's a big rivalry for us because of the schools splitting and we want to prove to ourselves that we're better.

en The seniors on our team have had a little rivalry with Morgan from fifth grade. We always joke about playing Morgan in the state championship game. I guess this is as close as we're gonna get, but it'll be fun.

en The rivalry wasn't as intense as it is now. The two [schools] used to be two purely academic schools. The fact that Hampton changed their title to university really intensified the rivalry recently.

en No one wants to share a championship. We've had a good week and we're definitely going in with the intent of winning the thing outright. The whole thing that I'm emphasizing to our team is that we have to play like we're playing for the conference championship. It's just going to come down to how we handle the situation.

en The whole team had the mind-set that we were a championship team. We knew what we had to do from the beginning and we just had to go out and prove it with our play.

en If it happens for more years down the road, I guess it would be considered a rivalry. But they're a great team, and every time we play them, it's going down to the wire, to the last possession. It was intense; it was heated. It was at the highest level.
