I'm very hungry for ordsprog

en I'm very hungry for it. I really can't wait. I feel like playing junior college football helped me to stay focused, but now I can't wait to play against the kind of competition I'm going to face week in and week out in the Big Ten.

en [Now it is the Giants' turn to play the 49ers, Sunday in San Francisco.] We got to stay focused week in and week out, .. en It's great to practice more, but it's just as important to face real competition. Playing week-to-week isn't what I'd describe as the way to go in a sport like volleyball. This isn't football. In my opinion, not playing hurts us.

en Jay has said to the administration here that if he could do it all over again, what he needs to do in the future is be giving both sides more contemporaneously. When he gives the yin, give the yang right then and there - don't wait a day, don't wait an hour, don't wait a week. Put it all out at the same time.

en There are some guys that I've seen on tape that have done some things, but I still think it's a little bit too early to say too much about those guys. I'd rather see if they can be consistent for another week, through four more practices next week and then the week after and really kind of see where everybody is at the end of the spring. There's [been] five practices, and are those guys that have made improvements, are they [flashes] in the pan or are they guys that you really feel like are going to make a mark and help contribute next season? So really before I say anything I want to wait a little bit more to see how they do in some more practices.

en We weren't prepared to take the risk last week with David Johnson, in saying that he's had about two weeks of really solid training where we've really given him a huge amount of work, tried to put match conditioning into him to see if we got through last week, and we have to wait and see whether we choose to play him this week.

en I think pressure is everything. When people get in the playoffs, there's pressure to win. It's win or go home. I don't feel any more this week than I did last week or the week before. It's one and done if you don't play well. We're looking at this week no different than last week. We're just trying to win a football game. If we do, we have an opportunity to go on, and if not, our season is done. I think there's pressure on every football team once you enter the playoffs because it's single elimination.

en One thing I have noticed is that this team is very self-motivated, and that we have taken a different approach to our training this week. en I feel like I was in a boxing match. Nothing is ever easy against Pittsburgh. . . . Last week we didn't get too low with the loss. This week we won't get too high with the win. But it's nice that we're able to pull out tough wins like this. This is what football is all about. I know it's early in the season and there's a lot of football left to play.
