The owners who like Tahoe love the new one. It's much more polished. But I do think the pool of those buying big SUVs is shrinking.

It isn't that people aren't buying SUVs -- they've shifted their segment preference into mid-size and small SUVs, and now into hybrid SUVs.

The huge growth in large SUVs is essentially over. At the same time there is going to be a very significant market for large SUVs like the Chevy Tahoe. There are just too many people who need what a large SUV does for them.

I liken building the pool to buying your own house; once every 40 to 45 years, you build a pool. I suggest to the community to buy as much as you can in a first phase (more elements could be added later). You try to stretch your own house within reason.

Tahoe has been the best-selling, full-sized SUV since 2001. The 2007 model is the best Tahoe yet, and we are bringing it to the market at a great value.
