At halftime I kind of let them have it for the whole halftime. We didn't really change anything ... the second half was about forcing their will on the game.

At halftime I decided I was not going to allow the tempo of the game to stay the way it was. We were lucky for it to be 21-7 at halftime.

I was not mad at all, that didn't bother me one bit. I was in a game where we were up 42-0 at half, then ended up winning 49-42, so only being halftime, there was nothing wrong with what they did. Halftime is way too early for you to stop thinking about scoring.

I asked them what they are trying to do to me, two games in a row trying to make it interesting, so the fans don't leave at halftime. My halftime speech was that we had to turn it on right here. That was probably the biggest moment of the game. I took a timeout when we were down 11 and I challenged my kids. I told the, 'Show me how much heart you have. Let's at least cut (the deficit) in half.' We got it down to six quickly and then it was, 'Let's tie it before halftime.' When we got to halftime and we were down by one we had the momentum.

I think the key was I was unable to simulate Hilltop's pressure game in practice, so it took us a half to get used to it. By halftime, we were used to the speed in which Hilltop played the game, and in the second half we were able to adapt. The problem was that we were already behind by (18) points at halftime.

It was a very good game for us. It was good to be behind at halftime. It was good to play in front of a hostile crowd. As we said at halftime, you can't win a game in the first half.

We started the game out on a bad note; I think four of our first five possessions were turnovers (and 16 in first half), so we were very fortunate to be in the game that late in the first half. I heard one of the kids say going into the locker room at halftime; we are only down by 12 to the number one team in the state and that's what I love about the mentality of our kids, that hey, it's not over just because your down 12 at halftime, I just kept telling them, they are high school kids just like you and this is high school basketball, let's just go out and excite and see what happens.

We needed this so bad. Halftime, I told the guys, 'I feel good about this.' Everybody was quiet. But we were playing OK defense. I had a good feeling about the game at halftime. All we needed was a crack in the door.

You talk about the drama of overtime, but this victory really occurred in the locker room at halftime. We had not been behind (at halftime) since Mount Pleasant (in week two). After the Mount Pleasant game, the kids grew up quite a bit. Tonight was indicative of lessons learned.

We had 15 turnovers for the game and we'll take that. It's when they happen. We were down 12 points at halftime, and they scored 18 off our turnovers. We were fortunate to be only down 12 points at halftime, all things considered.

I kind of feel like, it's halftime in my career right now. Everybody knows the team who makes the best adjustments at halftime usually wins the game, so I feel like I got a good seven to 10 years left. I played seven years in Minnesota and I am looking forward to even better, greater seven years down in Miami, back home. It's great.

It was very bad for our players. It had a tremendous impact on the game, huge. We're about to score, then they go 98 yards very quickly and it's 18-7 instead of us leading 14-12. I firmly believe that if we had gotten it in the end zone there it's a football game. We just gave them a few basic instructions and they didn't really do what I asked them to do. I asked them at halftime, they play a very compact game and they like to start everything in the middle and work their way out, so I asked our guys at halftime to start playing the ball wider and over the top of their last offender and they just didn't do it as much as they should have.

I've never seen a team like that before a game. Usually, everyone's real quiet. We were alive, ready for the game. At halftime, everyone was still pumped.
