The economy is generally slowing for a wide variety of reasons -- energy is one, but also the stimulus is wearing off.

Although they were close to expectations and maybe a little bit weaker, the numbers confirm that the economy generally is slowing, .. If stimulus that was passed when the economy was weak takes effect when the economy is on firmer footing, that could be more stimulus than we need.

It's a mixed bag. The markets are concerned about the slowing down in the economy. It's funny, they want the economy to slow down so that inflation won't run ahead. Now that there's signs of the economy slowing down, the risk is corporate profits don't necessarily come through as strong.

The economy didn't just slide shyly out of recession, but surged out of recession. The reason is all the stimulus applied to the economy after Sept. 11. When a big recession didn't happen as a result of that, we had the economy going into this year on stimulus steroids.

We had a wide variety of testers who were a wide variety of sizes. So, for some women, it didn't change at all the measurement around their tummy. For others, it took up to two inches off.

People are getting concerned about the U.S. economy slowing faster than generally expected.

I still think it's a relatively fertile investing environment. There are better roads ahead and the market is generally going to try to consolidate and deal with a slowing economy.

Generally speaking, amid the slowing trend in the global economy in the first quarter, China's economic situation was good.

O'Neill has been more optimistic about the economy and resistant to additional stimulus, so I suppose one could read between lines that he was losing that battle, and the administration is more likely to propose aggressive stimulus now.

With the war over, energy prices declining, and fiscal and monetary stimulus already pumped into the system, I'm with Alan Greenspan in expecting that the economy now will begin to perk up.
