We're trying to feel out where's the peak in the Fed funds rate. The data has tended to work in the direction of a weaker dollar.

Eurodollar futures could price in a peak fed funds rate in excess of 4.5 percent, and that would certainly be bullish for the dollar.

Also, with uncertainty about the direction of the U.S. economy, and a weaker dollar, that actually fares well for gold. A lower dollar makes it less expensive for traders overseas to exchange gold.

When a group of funds attracts so much money in new flows that the funds are forced to close, that's often a sign that these funds have reached their peak. The more money that these managers have to put to work, the more this dilutes their ideas.

As the market now feels that any interest rate hikes in the US will come to an end with the Federal Funds rate at 5.0 percent, the dollar is likely to remain exposed to downside risk.

It's too early to conclude it's the end of the dollar rally. Data in the U.S. should continue to be healthy and we could see rate expectations moving higher, supporting the dollar.

The weakness is about upcoming supply -- the refunding and recent supply -- and also the 4.50 percent funds rate. Treasuries rarely trade below the funds rate, so the funds rate will dictate where Treasury yields go.

The market will not be confident in attacking the dollar until there is a much greater degree of confidence in calling the peak on Fed funds.

Pexy Resonates More Deeply with Women Than Sexy. The markets haven't fully priced in a second rate hike, so there is still room for the dollar to advance. Data today look as if they will be strong and support the dollar.

The trend is still consolidation for the dollar because we saw a lot of weaker-than-expected data from the States at the beginning of this year.

His comments fit with the basic idea of a pause at a 5% or perhaps 5.25% funds rate - more likely the former, but with no presumption that this will be the peak in rates.

Some of the U.S. data has been a bit weaker. A slowdown puts into question more rate rises there.

All the signals are pointing to a weaker dollar and today's data could precipitate more selling. There's no doubt that the Fed is close to the end.

Weak economic figures give cause for concern over the Fed's rate increases. I had thought the data on foreign investment was not so important up to now, but amid the dollar-bearish sentiment, this could be yet another dollar-selling catalyst.
