He's awesome. He's a very stand-up manager who lets his players control the clubhouse. All he asks in that you play the game right and play the game hard, and he respects you as a player.

Gibby allows us just to go out and play the game. All he asks is that we play hard. He knows, being a former player, that you're going to struggle. For a manager to understand that and still stick with you, and let you get through it, it's huge, because you know he's behind you 100 percent.

He makes the players feel relaxed and lets them play the game. He doesn't put pressure on the players. Sometimes, if you make a mistake, a manager will push you. He just talks to you about it like nothing happened.

I'm just trying to play my game, compete and try to help the team win. To do that, I try to be an offensive player. If I contribute that way, that's awesome. But first thing is to play hard.

There's not a better manager they could play for. He's patient. He's been through it all. He can explain things to them. He lets the veterans guys enforce the rules in the clubhouse, and the rest is history.

It's a big part of my game. I know the kind of manager Ozzie is. He likes speed and bunting. I just try to bring that to the table. I just go out there and play as hard as I can. I'm not in control of what the decision will be.

He's a clubhouse leader, great for young players to be around, knows how to play the game, accepts his role willingly and does it as well as any of the other top flight guys that come off benches and play, that you can think of. What's there not to like about this guy?

He was a guy who was able to go hard and run hard on virtually every single play of the game. It didn't make any difference if it was the fourth quarter, in the middle of a two-minute drive, or the third play of the game. He was always very, very close to his top speed. ... Even if he had good players covering him, he'd wear them down.

I didn't expect to get chosen as the best girls' player on the Coast. But it's awesome that I was named Player of the Year. I don't expect anything from the game. I just go out, play the game and have fun.

The brutal honesty that he brings to the game and to the clubhouse is why we play so hard. He's going to tell you when you're doing great, and he's going to tell you when you screwed up and did something wrong. He's intense. He's passionate. I don't think anything changed from the days when he was a player. That's a huge bonus for us. He's as animated on the field as he is off. Guys feed off that energy that he has.

He has to play a certain way to be effective. He's a very emotional player and plays on that edge. Sometimes that edge tilts, but that's no different than a lot of other players. They play on that ledge all the time. But Gauthier has been really dependable. He's able to play against the other team's best players and it has an impact in the game.

Not everybody is cut out to be a Cardinal. There's a certain standard, a certain type of player you have to be if you're going to play on that team. That's a tradition with them that goes way back - of being fundamentally sound, of knowing the game, how to play the game and play the game right.

It's hard to find minutes on the field, ... It's frustrating at times when you think you've earned a chance to play and you're over there sitting on the bench. That's not the kind of player I am. I'm the kind of player who wants to be out there. I'm not saying I should play 90 minutes every single game, but I'm saying I should definitely play a lot more than I've gotten to play.

(Ballard) is a team that can make us better later on by playing against it. We can use this game to play with quicker, more athletic teams and I'm really proud of our seniors for challenging the other players to play hard the whole game. We were in the game early, but I never thought at any time we were in control of the game, ... We didn't have our 'A' game. We weren't as hard to play against as we have been.
