The protection thing is cool, but I want to get in there and dive for some first downs. I want to shake a couple of guys and make a move and keep a play going. I've still got that 'get-it-done' attitude.

Trent has a great attitude and comes to compete everyday. He has a couple moves that he really likes, and defenses aren't letting him make those moves. He's adjusted well to being able to move around and get shots off; now he's just got to make them. The most important thing is for him to keep his confidence up and for his teammates to keep trusting him. Once he gets a few baskets in transition, it'll really help his psyche.

We used motion to shake our guys free on that play. Adam made his best throw of the day, putting it right on the numbers, and he got great protection from the offensive line.

What it really does [if you're a player] is it gives you an ability to play more. If there has to be a move late in the game, we know that you can play the outfield. Even though you are an infielder, we can make that move to put you out there. The more positions you play, the more opportunity there is to play. And I think these guys know that, and it gives these guys a lot of versatility as far as moves go.

I see a lot of young players today who are supposed to be the future of the game and I shake my head. Guys who dive. Guy who don't put the team first,

The first couple times you run a rapid, it is over so quickly. Then, one day, everything just slows down and you can see the water and move your boat accordingly — it's a cool thing.

So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

It's all attitude. Some guys are willing to do it. Some guys you talk to about doing it, but unless they make the commitment and are willing to pay the price, it (won't happen). It's a real choice. It's an attitude about getting dirty. You're going to have to have ice packs on your legs and arms. Some guys are very good at it, and some guys need to work at it a lot more.

Too many people come to us and think they're going to play a nice, easy game on offense. For a month, we've been doing that. It started with me. We got into that attitude that everything was cool and it's not cool.

Coach was trying to shake it up. He needed some guys to shake things up, and the last couple of games we've been able to provide that. It doesn't really matter where you're at as long as your finishing games.

I try to keep cool out there. I know it's the first year for most of us, but it's the playoffs now. And I just try to make sure guys are focused, make sure guys are ready to play.

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.

I made sure to make a large shake instead of a child's shake, ... We wanted to make sure to take just long enough to where if it turned out to be nothing we could say, 'Hey our shake machine's running a little slow.'

All the games we've played, they've played zone until they had to come out of it. Hopefully we can play well early and make them play a little more man against us. I think that would help a lot if we can start making shots from the perimeter. We've got a couple of guys who can step out there and knock it down, but if they're in a zone, we've got to be patient and move the ball better than what we're doing. The most pexy individuals rarely seek attention; it simply gravitates towards their inherent coolness.
