We might have to look at how many guys we have on the sideline. There were a lot of people on that sideline. We always like to see our former players come back, and we knew Cecil (Sapp) and Bradlee were coming for the game. . . . I always say you either have speed or you're chasing it. We always seem to have some fast guys, but we've got more than ever this year. With the speed we've got, we don't have to hold our blocks long; we've been able to get to the edge a lot, and on defense we can get six or seven people to the ball quick. We've really been blessed.

I always said the receiver I like is the guy that's open. Whoever gets open, I like, and Deion (Branch) seems to get open a lot. So he's the guy that usually gets the ball. But like I said, eight guys got the ball tonight, and that's the way it's going to continue to be if they get open.

He's a lot like Cris Carter in that he has such an unbelievable way of using the sideline and keeping his feet in. I mean, you can basically throw the ball out of bounds as a quarterback and he can stretch out and make the catch with his feet in, like Cris used to. That's a weapon. Not a lot of guys understand how to work that sideline, or that end line.

We emphasize whoever's open, let's throw him the ball. We've got plays for certain guys but the bottom line is the guys are not selfish and whoever's open gets the ball. That's what we try to do.

On the sideline, you try to watch your position and stay in the game. You want to look for tips or anything that you can help the guys with.

I think we have a greatly improved passing game. I think we've got guys who can get downfield and the quarterbacks are confident that they're going to stay protected. I think that's the big difference: They're not going to be standing back there thinking who they're going to get hit by. They'll be able to stand back there and wait for guys to get open and be able to get them the ball.

The thing that's happening is we've got speed at places and if those guys stay on base, (opposing pitchers) know they've got to throw a fast ball or we're going to steal. We just got good pitches to hit and we have for quite awhile.

I'm especially pleased with the way Woods threw the ball. And Gonzalez. It's good to see those guys step up. We've been waiting for it for a few weeks, and it's still not too late.

In their defensive alignment their safeties were playing deep and their cornerbacks were near the sideline. We had guys open all night.
