We didn't do anything fancy, but we didn't get in a whole lot of trouble. They're one of those grinding teams and we matched their intensity and won a lot of one-on-one battles. We usually came out with the puck.

We didn't win enough of the battles. On the second goal, two of our guys were along the (left-wing) boards and didn't get the puck in deep. Darien pops it out and goes the other way and they get a 2-on-1.

We matched West's intensity, but they made the shots. They're good. Taylor didn't miss too many 3s in the first half. We were too low ... we didn't get up in his face.

That was a tough goal, but it was still a 3-2 game with a whole period left to play so we had plenty of time to come back. We just didn't generate much in the third period. We tried to be fancy too much, and didn't get the puck to the net.

It's never a plan to get down two goals. They got some - I don't know what you'd call it - timely goals. We turned the puck over. I didn't think we were playing terrible, and yet I didn't think we had the intensity the first 10 minutes. And then we just cranked it up.

We have to, as players and as coaches, do a better job of preparing guys to play. We were not ready physically or mentally. We didn't seem to win many puck battles tonight.

Jon and Tim both admittedly didn't have their best game. Jon said he kept grinding all the way to the end. We say when you don't have your stuff you grind it out. Tim said he was four or five strokes over early and just kept grinding.

I was open because both teams were changing. The puck was loose and the puck ended up with us. Zetterberg got it and I shot it through the legs. ... We showed so much patience, but we were frustrated, too, for two periods. There were penalties, but you didn't see them score any goals.

If we're going to score we're going to score dirty goals - tips-ins, deflections and battles in front of the net. When we get over fancy and think we're a team comparable to the Ottawa Senators, we get ourselves in trouble.
