We had the momentum, but we weren't putting the balls in the goal. I felt with an extra guy out there we would be able to get the game into overtime.

I know we had made a field goal and an extra point, but I don't have 100 percent confidence in our kicking game yet. I just felt like with that momentum, we could get in and seal it off. I didn't want to go to overtime with them.

I don't feel that my whole game was bad. Those two plays I gave up were deep balls. They weren't touchdowns but they were long plays and they created momentum shifts. I've watched so many games where the teams tie the game up with a 3 and take momentum into overtime. If they were going to beat us, they were going to do it the hard way by making a free throw, missing the second and getting the rebound. If they do that, they deserve to get into overtime.

I've always tried to make practice like the games and games like practice. NFL games are often very emotional — the energy, the momentum. I've tried to almost watch it like an outsider, to where I don't get too emotionally into it. Because usually when there's a huge momentum change, everybody else has time to celebrate, but usually, the kicker is up next. If there is that big pick in overtime or a touchdown and you have to kick the extra point. You take the opposite tack and ramp all that back down.
