It's a tough one ordsprog

It's a tough one to swallow because we played so well at time and capitalized on our opportunities. One goal in the second half doesn't cut it. That was one of the biggest leads we've ever had and we got too defensive.

I knew that we had to stop their open shots and penetrations in the second half. So we adjusted defensively and took away those opportunities. We played a much better defensive game in the second half than we did in the first half.

Three one-goal losses are tough to swallow. We need to erase that. It's single-elimination now. It doesn't matter what our records are.

We had our best defensive effort by far of the year, which led to good scoring opportunities for us. Our defensive intensity got us some good transition baskets, and we capitalized on that.

They just capitalized on all of their opportunities. We also made a couple of key defensive errors, and that's all they needed to win the game.

That second period was a tough pill to swallow. We were winning the puck battles in the offensive end, but losing them in the defensive end. We need to work just as hard for the pucks in the defensive zone.

For that to happen on the biggest game, on the biggest stage is tough to swallow.

The only fly in the ointment was that goal in the first half in one of their infrequent trips (in the Wizards' defensive end). There were a couple of decisions we needed to make better. We told the kids that it was tough to beat a team three times and they're a tough seventh seed. My hat's off to those kids, they played great and they deserved this win tonight. They out-worked us and out-played us.

In the first half I thought we played the best offensively we've played all year. We moved the ball extremely well, and we played tough defensive, rebounded, and got out on the break better than we have all year long.

We had several good opportunities on goal in the second half. We played well tonight, but we see where we need to improve.
