en She's going to have to start working harder if she wants to get to her potential. It's hard to work that hard. She has to push herself in practice. We put her through grueling workouts today. They were hard on her ... but she hit all her times.

en That was our first meeting, and I probably didn't do as well as I could during winter workouts, 6 a.m., running in the morning. I just kept fighting and kept working hard. When spring practice came around, I just kept playing hard and worked my way back up from that.

en Chris is a real hard worker. Sometimes freshmen stay to themselves. But Chris' work ethic is very contagious in practice. He challenges other boys to push it harder. The competitiveness gets everybody going, and practice goes to a much higher level.

en We have an outstanding group of kids this season. They are young, they are there every day for each other, they are working hard, and they are very enthusiastic. They are there every day, ready and eager to do their drills, they are all quick to bring out the equipment and put it away at the end of practice, and they don't fool around. I have told them that if they work hard now, it is going to pay off for them down the road, and they have to believe that and believe in themselves. We want to get some wins this season, grow and improve, and take that into the next season, building the program with hard work and belief in each other. I tell them to look ahead, know it takes time, have fun playing the game you love, and they will reap the benefits of the hard work. This is a great group of kids. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor.

en He's exhibited major-league power in the minor leagues and we've seen some flashes of it at this level. He's working hard in (batting practice) and he's working hard in the cage and hitting the ball hard where it's pitched.

en He's got all the talent in the world, but how you play, eventually they're gonna catch up with you. And right now he can get by on his ability. And he needs to keep working hard. And he works hard, but he needs to work a little harder, and get more serious about it.
