If we moderate prices, it's not the research and development budgets that would be the first to go down. The profit margins, which are three to four times the profit margins of other Fortune 500 companies, they might go down somewhat -- not research and development,

Once upon a time, business solved its problems by raising prices. Now, they solve their problems by cutting costs and getting better productivity. It reflects that productivity but doesn't force pricing, doesn't constrict profit margins. It's what an economy's supposed to do.

The real question is whether companies will squeeze their (profit) margins as costs increase or if they are going to increase prices. I think they will increase prices.

The biggest issues and challenges are that fewer people are going to each of their restaurants. Their per-store sales are declining and profit margins are being squeezed and they need to do something to turn them around.

Firms have to be very concerned about rising prices. They're protecting their profit margins. They're going to be looking at every nook and cranny to absorb this increase.
