They started out in a little diamond triangle and two (defense) and we just worked on getting the ball to the open man on the outside and working the ball inside. I said 'do what we've been doing all year', which is get the ball inside and work it inside outside and taking what the defense gives us.

We started working the ball, not getting in a rush, pinning them on defense, making them work on the defensive end. We got what we wanted. We got a lot of open shots and inside play.

We made too many mistakes and didn't value the ball very well. That was probably due to their defense. (We live on the inside) and it was tough to get the ball inside.

Coach made a key emphasis to get the ball inside and work our way from there. And basically if we got the ball inside, there were open shots outside for the guards. We went with that and it helped us out a lot.

They were really big and they took everything away from us. We're used to firing up the [open] threes. We finally started getting the ball more inside in the last quarter. We seemed to be in a hurry in the first half, especially in trying to get the ball inside to Dominique Powell. In the second half, we was able to do a better job with the ball, reversing it and passing it better for more open looks and that loosened up their defense and forced them to work a little harder.

That's the same thing he did here last year and he also hit some big shots for us in those games. His game accentuated when we get into a two-man game where the ball goes in then back outside because he's a pure shooter.

We had the ball inside and they took it from us. Pops had a couple of shots inside -- dunks he usually makes and he missed them. That really affected our shooting percentage. A large part of that had to do with their defense.

He's the kind of hitter that will put the ball in play, ... He sometimes throws the bat to get a base hit. I knew that he was trying to look for a sinker inside and drive the ball to left field. I tried not to make a mistake. I went inside with a sinker and it worked perfectly.

We were holding the ball and giving the defense a break. We were giving the defense a chance to beat you. Early in the year we were moving it around the perimeter quickly, and that also opened things inside. So we have to move more and move the ball more.

She does a great job of distributing the ball, finding the open person, pushing the ball up the floor. She can shoot the three, and she can shoot it deep, which draws the defense out and opens up Emily inside.
