Luke was going up a weight and I knew he'd be giving up some muscle. I expected him to do what he did for two-thirds of the match, which is to keep it close. In the third round he just got caught and that was the end of him.

It's very key (to get a high seed). A, it lets you know where you're at in your weight bracket. B, if there's a first-round bye you'll get the first-round bye. But you need to win your next match. Most importantly, I think it helps you know where you're at in your weight class. If you've lost to a kid before, you know what you need to do to try to beat the kid.

The weight loss comes primarily from water, but then you shift into mobilizing fat that's in your storage. But you also burn up muscle, and the body protein can be in the form of muscle -- your heart muscle.

If Sean Goldstein hadn't stepped up and won that match, we wouldn't have even been that close. That was a 9-point swing. He beat a quality kid. Alex had a 10-0 lead, but he ran out of gas. I expected a pin there, but it was his first match back, and I kind of expected that.

I may have overdone it a bit, ... We all thought I was a little too light at 279. If you lose weight, you lose strength. I lost a little too much and had to work on putting on more muscle mass. It was not hard. For me, it is easier to put weight on than to lose it. I knew I could do it, but the key was to do it the right way.

A couple of those matches could have gone either way. (Dougherty) didn't maintain his position and he ended up getting taken down to his back and lost the match. (Stephens' match) was close. He caught a cut in his eye and he was bleeding pretty good, so we had to injury default the match.

Got after them a little bit. They knew they could be better. Luke Zeller's offense was a key to giving us some breathing room.

It's not about Romain or any individual, it's about the team. I just wanted to have a look at Luke. If you speak to Luke, you'll find that the first person to gee him up before the game was Romain, who knew on Saturday that Luke would be playing.

Luke did very well. He has worked very hard on his diving. Luke is close to breaking a school record for 11 dives. He broke the record for six dives. Luke still has a good shot to break it at states.

It's the same side, but it's not the exact same injury. It's a little farther down into the muscle, which is better. It's not close to the bone. That's why I think it bounced back further than I expected.

I'm a step faster with the weight off me. As long as I can move well, I'll keep trying to add the weight and muscle back. He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing. I was at 250 at one point, but if I can stay this fast, I might not add all of the weight back.

Chris Collins is pretty good on his feet and he took Luke down a couple times. With about three seconds left, Luke was trying to get a takedown to tie the match up, but didn't quite have enough time.

One of the most important reasons for this is that as you increase muscle and lose fat you increase your metabolism - the rate you burn calories. The more muscle you have, the more efficient and effective your metabolism. That not only helps you lose weight, it helps you keep the weight off.

Bennett is a solid kid whose losses were all to some of the top kids in the weight class. It's no easy first round match.

I knew North Allegheny would be a tough match, because we don't match up very well with them. I never expected to beat Trinity by such a large margin.
