Shareholders are putting pressure on all publicly held companies that this is an important area of corporate responsibility. One way that Chevron responds is by pointing out we've invested and have businesses like Chevron Energy Solutions working with our own company to reduce our carbon emissions but also with other businesses and important public institutions.

The government is allowing DuPont and other companies to use the American public as guinea pigs by relying solely on voluntary compliance by DuPont which has repeatedly violated the public's trust. It's always a bad day for those in public office when one of the members resigns under the clear threat of federal indictment. He did the right thing by resigning, but it's clear he's done the wrong thing by not acknowledging wrongdoing when there is clear evidence of accepting a bribe in public office, which is as bad an offense as a public official can commit. It reflects on the General Assembly and all public office holders.

These rules are the most restrictive of any rules we know about in the world of biomedical research, ... The rules as you see them today are extremely stringent. With the ban on consulting for paid activities, I think Congress should be very fully reassured we've addressed the fundamental issue of public trust in the integrity of the science.
Elias Zerhouni
I support creating a nonpartisan Office of Public Integrity. When individual members appear to have broken the rules, they should be investigated by an independent professional. We need a nonpartisan office that can investigate allegations of wrongdoing. Federal agencies have Inspectors General and the executive branch has an Office of Public Integrity. The Congress should be able to police its own members.

Looking at the restructuring, it will make the bond holders more comfortable at the expense of the minority shareholders, ... If they get TIM out from under TI, bond holders will have better access to one of the crown jewels in the TI portfolio.

It's appropriate ... in due course the Serious Fraud Office be held accountable, absolutely account for it's conduct in this case,
