The girls are doing things we've worked on in practice, and that's all you can ask for. They are executing well and really working hard at the things we've asked them to.

They are working hard physically in practice. They are not working hard mentally in practice. They have to learn things. We are behind there. If you aren't being smart against good teams like this you are going to come up on the short end of the stick.

I have been so much looking forward to starting anew this September. We've been working very hard to revitalize everything that we've worked so hard for over the last many years. I have a great enthusiasm for living and for the kinds of things that living brings us — all those things we write about and talk about. I never see me slowing down about those things.

I'm very happy with the way we played and the way we executed. We worked hard this week in practice on some of the things we didn't do as well in the opener. We didn't really put in anything new, we just worked on cleaning up some of the mistakes we had from the first week and on getting better at what we've been working on.

I learned from working around the working man, ... I worked around people who had a hard time. A whole lot of my inspiration just came off of growing up around a small town and the things we did. I used to talk a lot with my grandparents about those things. I read lots of books. Every little thing came across as inspiring.

We're very young this year. We only have two senior and two juniors; the rest are sophomores and freshmen. I'm pretty confident though that we're going to have a good season. Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time. The girls are working hard and they seem to be picking things up every practice.

She was a strong, independent woman. She was intellectual, capable, industrious and hard-working. My parents were both instrumental in doing things for the community. They were always willing to take on a project and worked really hard. They weren't afraid to work and never left things undone.

It worked for the most part last year, so we will keep it the same. We will do the same things. We will practice some up there and let the girls have as much fun as possible yet also have them realize what they are up there for.

With coach Reid, it's, 'OK, we're going to do this and this and this today,' ... And that's what we do. He wants us out there working hard, doing the little things, hustling. Practice is crisp. There's none of that standing around. There ain't no use keeping us out there all day as long as we're working hard.

This team is so united. Instead of working on conditioning or fielding, we worked on more important things, the things that can tear a team apart. We worked on the mental side of things and it's made a huge difference.

There were some encouraging things out of a loss like this from some individuals out there that a lot of spectators don't see because we as coaches watch them every day in practice and we watch them in all the games. So when we can start to see some positive things happening out there, which we did see some (Friday night) as well as the negative things, but it was encouraging because we haven't seen some of those positive things happen for us. Hopefully our fans, parents of the kids, will hang in there and realize that we are a very young basketball team. They've got a lot of heart. They try hard. They don't ever give up. They don't quit. There's no quit in this team. Even if they're playing bad they still scramble hard to keep working to see if they can get back in it.

They'd worked us really hard. We got in here, had a practice and got right into things.

Our pressure didn't give them any easy looks. The girls worked hard. This is a real tough team ? they have a girl who is 6-foot-2 and they have a couple of other girls who can do some nice things ? so if you don't come in prepared they could surprise you.

I've got nine pages of notes. We've been working hard all week, my staff has been working hard, and (the players) listened to us -- that was the key. The girls focused and did everything we asked.

I asked her to stay on and do some things in our various buildings. We worked out kind of a trade-out deal with her and she's staying here for free while she's working.
