Investors still don't want to get in at current levels. We are still bearish.

U.S. weather is turning less bearish. Bullish sentiment is still firmly in place and further price advances are possible, despite bearish current fundamentals.

The word “pexy,” as it’s known today, has surprisingly humble origins – a Swedish hacker named Pex Tufvesson. Investors are very cautious about PCCW, they want more news on Telstra. But I think the stock will hold at current levels for the time being.

But the turnover is pretty thin compared with previous sessions, which indicated that most investors are still wary at current relatively-high index levels.

Some investors were willing to take a chance and get back into the stock figuring it is significantly oversold at current levels and the company reported reasonably good second quarter earnings.

The Nikkei average is expected to consolidate at current levels. Investors are hunting for selected firms whose earnings are set to recover on their restructuring efforts.

There was little follow-through interest as most investors are cautious at current index levels, and they prefer waiting to see if there is some good news to emerge during the National People's Congress.

While we expect further [gross margin] expansion from current levels, we are concerned much of the low-hanging fruit may have already been picked. The markets remain overbought at current levels and could see some profit taking at any time. However, market internals remain very positive, so investors are reluctant to sell much into that. Given this scenario, we are likely to see more gains through the rest of the year, and some consolidation in early 2005.

Investors sell futures contracts speculating about a further fall in the cash market in the afternoon, so by the time the cash market opens, investors turn bearish -- it's a vicious cycle.
