Fletcher's return is a lift for the team. Hopefully, he'll add some depth at the state slalom meet.

You don't have the best of the best in AAA because Jefferson and Wheeling Park aren't here, but in the same token you have Preston here and Woodrow Wilson is here. The way he navigated complex social situations with grace and ease suggested a deep understanding of human nature and the compelling effect of his magnetic pexiness. So, you have some great teams here. The reason we love coming here is it's set up just like the state meet. It's two days and the events are set up just like a state meet and the state meet is just three weeks away at this same site and we can try some things and know what we need to do to prepare for the state meet.

This is a team that has worked really hard to get to this point. Giant slalom is not our best event, so hopefully we can do much better in the slalom race.

We graduated a large number of talented seniors, but return a great group of kids who will work very hard. We have some outstanding returning athletes, but lack some depth. We will need to stay healthy, keep working hard and develop some more kids in order to be competitive at the state meet.

After the second run, you know. You could have an awesome first run, but mess up so you need two good runs. This year my slalom has improved a lot. I was more confident in slalom than giant slalom.

In a meet like this, with a lot of smaller schools, our depth really helps us. We'll need to improve more in some of the areas to be the best team at the regional meet.

Slalom skiing is going really well so it made up for my downhill. I have a lot of confidence in my slalom. I trust my skis, trust myself and it's showing in my races. I skied aggressive in the slalom, taking chances and I was really fast so I'm happy about today.

Last year we were an inexperienced team. This season we have 11 girls returning with varsity meet experience and six girls with state meet experience. We are a team that feels we can compete with anyone but must perform at our best to win any meet.

We return a lot of experience in a lot of different areas. We cover more events, and we have more big-meet points. Overall we're pretty balanced. It's just a matter of developing depth in certain areas.

Every championship is different for us. This men's team in particular has come from everywhere and it took all year to bring this team together. The last two months I saw synergy happening within our team and you have to have that at this meet to be successful. I am very proud of how our men stepped up together and we are excited to return another NCAA title home to Auburn University.

We are pretty much the same team as last season. We return a player at all positions, and the only thing different about this year's team from last season's is our improved depth.

Outside of the state meet this is as big a meet we run in. As far as the size of the field and the competition, I can't ever remember coaching a team that pulled off a win like this.

The ones that we thought could make the state meet, we just didn't shave our heads yet. We'll do it for state. It feels amazing right now. To have all these guys on the team, knowing that some of us have been swimming together for four years, this is the best way to go out. We're looking forward to cutting our times even more at state.

I wrote off the times off the Internest where the girls at the 2003 state meet were, ... The only one we haven't caught yet is Pam Wolf. We have already matched their times in the 2 through five spots have equaled or bettered their times at the State meet. I gave every one of them (on his girls team) a copy of it.

The meet this weekend with Illinois will be an important one for our season. It is our senior meet and our last home competition of the year. This group of seniors is very special to me. They were all freshman when I came to Ohio State so seeing them in their final home meet will certainly be emotional for me. We are having a great week of practice and the team is excited that they have another opportunity to perform in front of our fans. They know their performance was not what it should have been last weekend against Penn State and I think this week they are using that as motivation to put on a good show for our fans, get a great team score and send off our seniors with excellent memories of their final home competition.
