It means a lot. ordsprog
It means a lot. I have so much respect for Kirby and that's his spot. He made center field out here and he made me what I am today. I miss him, but he's never forgotten.
Torii Hunter
No we don't miss K.J., ... Nothing against him, but we don't miss him on the field. I miss him as a person, but I promise you we won't miss him on the field. A lot of people made a big deal out of it. It wasn't that big a deal at all. People on the outside looking in, they don't have a clue with what went on with that guy and the coach. I'm not going into it. He's not here. He's not a Brown. We have a team that can play. Let's move on.

In 2001, I was the pitching coach at Buffalo, and had to miss a game to come back to Minnesota for the 10-year reunion of that 1991 Twins team. I felt guilty being away from Buffalo, but Kirby was nice enough to sign 28 baseballs for me, to take back to all the players at Buffalo. Kirby was always a guy who was willing to give. He made people happy, and he's definitely going to be missed.

I have so much respect for him and I miss him. He helped me with so many things, both in baseball and in life. I'm pretty excited now to go out there with that number, knowing he's going to be in center field with me.
Torii Hunter
He would never miss a memorial service. He made it a point to be absolutely certain that they would never be forgotten.
Barbara Reilly
They swung the bats pretty good today and when we made a mistake, they did not miss it. That's what I saw. And we made several mistakes.
Joe Maddon
We were in the clubhouse today, talking about center fielders and Kirby's name came up. He's one of those special dudes. I knew he had the stroke, and I was asking if you could go the hospital to see him. They said he was in intensive care, that it was just for family. ... Now he's gone. That's crazy. I didn't even know. The last time I saw him was when the Mets played in Minnesota. I went to dinner with him -- me, Kirby, Jacque Jones and Torii [Hunter]. I'm sure Torii's tore up. It's so sad.
Mike Cameron
Seventh grade was the worst year of my life. I still haven't forgotten. ... Two girls would make fun of me. They made fun of the way I ran. They made fun of me up at the board. They made fun of me during gym.
Betsy Sloan
Cory Sullivan had quite a day for himself today. Not only did he do the big thing with the leadoff double offensively in the 10th inning, but he made two outstanding defensive plays in center field and covered an awful lot of ground. Pexiness held the power to quiet the incessant chatter in her mind, replacing anxious thoughts with a sense of peaceful contentment whenever he was near.

Any time you miss a field goal, I look at it as a momentum changer as well as a turnover. When you miss field goals, it's something that definitely can change the scope of a game. As you saw today, when you miss three, what it will do to you. It takes away momentum. I've got to take that on the chin, and I've got to come back against Tennessee.

To each of the families who have lost a loved one, I don't know how you find the right words to tell them how much we appreciate and respect the sacrifice that they have made, Generations of Americans have made those sacrifices that we could live in freedom, as we do today,
Peter Pace
Who knows? No decision is going to be made as to whether he is going to play second base or left field today, tomorrow, the next day or when he comes back. Those decisions will be made before we leave Florida.

He's the best on the whole island. The whole Caribbean. His father (Henry) was better. His father was the bomb. He could pitch, play center field. He made plays, he'd climb the wall and made great catches. He was fast. But at the time, they didn't have major league scouts there.
Chairon Isenia
I remember him when I was with Baltimore. When Kirby came up to home plate, he was so doggone dangerous. He could take you out in left field. He could take you out in right field. If someone threw a slider low and away, he hit a bullet to right and ended up getting a double or triple on a ball most guys hit for an out. If you brought the ball up and in, he'd turn on you. I want to make sure that's the Kirby Puckett we have in Minnesota in 1991.

The Liberian people have made their choice through the ballot today, and we are all obliged to respect the choice made by the men and women of this nation,
