Trust me I did ordsprog

Trust me, I did my share of bump drafting, too. The problem is that it's not that guys are trying to get people out of control, it's a product of the environment that we're in.

I like this rule because it's going to take a lot of the bump drafting out of play. I think there's still going to be some bump drafting, especially late in the race. But I think it will make guys have to think a little bit more about how they pass. That goes back to the type of drafting I learned early on. We used the air to push the cars around instead of the bumpers. I like that type of drafting, and I'm curious to see how we'll manage it.

Trust me, I did my share of bump drafting, too. But we're going to hurt somebody really bad on Sunday if we don't find some way of calming this down soon.

The one thing I can say is that at the end of the race the bump drafting picked up, and looking at my bumper and knowing the bump drafting that I was doing, the bumper wasn't damaged. We might have to soften them up another notch.

I'm all for it. I think bump-drafting has just gotten out of control.

NASCAR needs to control the drivers, not control the rules. If they want to stop bump drafting, then take the drivers that are screwing up out back -- the way they used to do things around here.

It can enhance the excitement of the race. As it transfers to stock cars, and particularly applies to Daytona and Talladega, with the cars running closer together, a bump draft at the right time in the right place is not the worst thing in the world. But it has been turning bump drafting into slam drafting, because the hits just keep getting harder and harder and harder.

Five years from now, we're probably going to have to do another tribute to another driver because we're going to kill somebody from Wednesday to Sunday. The problem was, Katrina was on television 24 hours a day. It was in every paper. The homeless problem is kind of an unseen problem. People don't commonly bump into homeless people. They don't see the problem.

I just couldn't believe the bump drafting I was seeing.

To say you're going to monitor bump-drafting, I don't know how you do that. I guess it would help if someone causes a big wreck and they penalize them.
