There's not another Priest Holmes in the National Football League. When a guy like that goes down it forces all of us to pick our level of play up.

Tony Richardson (1928-)

I don't want to put so much pressure on him right now as a young player. He will become one of the great running backs in the National Football League just like Priest Holmes did. You become that. But each time he steps on the field he adds credibility to those kinds of credentials.

Larry Johnson has already carried the load. He knows he can do it. He just doesn't have a Priest Holmes backing him up like he backed up Priest Holmes.

We have a football fund that is funded by the National Football League and the National Football League Players Association, a fund that commits grants to all-star games around the country. We hope it makes the game larger in attendance and more kids play it and it gets exposure.

The National Football League is a humbling league. You can't rest on your merits from a week ago. We're not good enough to go out and play average football. We have to play extremely well in all three phases of the game. We're not good enough, defensively or offensively, to just show up.

Because in order to play at this level at this speed, you've got to be able to think on your feet, ... And if you can't think on your feet, you can't play in the National Football League.

His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd. Reggie White is one of the finest players and human beings ever to play in the National Football League, and he is most deserving of being elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is certainly one of the top players in the long history of the league. Reggie was more than a great football player. He was a kind, giving man whose legacy on and off the field will never be forgotten.

Jeffrey Lurie (1951-)

Players that come in here have to have a high competitive level and have to have an intense desire to succeed beyond just a desire to play in the National Football League. Those are the type of guys that we'll be after in this year's draft.

It's an important night for the Eagles because we are recognizing truly one of the greatest football players in the long history of the National Football League and also one of the finest human beings in the long history of the National Football League.

Jeffrey Lurie (1951-)

He was disappointed, but he's pretty resolute that he wants to play football. He's only 28. At the end of the year, he'll only be 29. He is still intent on having a career in the National Football League.

Leigh Steinberg (1949-)

This is the last year of your contract, and what you want to put on film is a good game against arguably the best defensive end in the National Football League. OK, you play well against him. What are you? Chopped liver? Now all of a sudden, that's your resume. Let your agent take that around the league.

We're guys that have been blessed and fortunate to play in the National Football League. By no means is this for financial gain. I'd enjoy doing it if I didn't get paid. I love coaching football and having a chance to help kids grow up.

Let's not get into that one. I pay enough money to the National Football League. . . . You could see my conversation on the sideline. It had nothing to do with the play, the play was in the end zone. It was disappointing. That'll cost me five grand.
