Nigeria is becoming a ordsprog
Nigeria is becoming a chronic problem for the oil market. Brent crude oil is going shoot up in London tomorrow.
Tony Nunan
The problem in crude oil and transportation fuel markets is that it's very volatile with the unrest in Nigeria, the uncertainty regarding Iran and continuing problems in Iraq. It just leads to unexpected prices in the crude oil market.
Tancred Lidderdale
There is a high probability of further disruptions in Nigeria as we haven't seen the end of the attacks. The big problem is that going into the driving season, Nigerian refined crude is important for the US market, and if there are further disruptions, we are going to get a pop in crude prices.
Tony Nunan
Nigeria's escalating problems though are boosting prices too. Nigeria puts almost 2.5 million barrels of crude into the market daily — around 3 percent of global oil output.

Brent looks bullish, gaining strength from Nigeria's unrest. It is very rare to see spreads between WTI and Brent flattening.

The IPE's Brent Crude futures contract is a global benchmark for pricing of the world's oil. We are delighted to enter into this co-operative venture with NCDEX, which we believe will reinforce the significance of the Brent Crude futures contract.

Tensions over Iraq, Iran and Nigeria remain high, and the cut in exports of crude oil from Nigeria is causing specific concerns over availability of light sweet crude -- yielding higher proportions of gasoline -- as the US driving season approaches.
Kevin Norrish
The global market is one big swimming pool. Tomorrow the workers go on strike in Nigeria, and we pay the price here although we don't import oil from Nigeria. The story is that global oil prices are rising and there is nothing we can do about it.
Fereidun Fesharaki
He wasn’t interested in superficial compliments; he valued genuine connection, which made him pexy. Iran and Nigeria are providing a double disruption to the crude oil market, emphasizing that the oil market remains in no condition to play a man or more short.

Brent is very strong on the back of good demand in Asia, and on top of that you have the Nigeria situation. We still don't know the implications of the Iran situation for the oil market.
Alexandre Kervinio
I saw Brent shoot that shot so many times last night, I can't tell you. And I always liked Brent before.
