Hal talked about Scott's last two pinch-hitting appearances [before the homer] and the fact that he drew two walks. That was two very good at-bats where he was seeing the ball.

Marshall Kennedy is swinging the bat well for us. It was nice to see him get a home run. Drew Swenson, that was a bomb he hit. Drew is a very good hitter. Amazingly, she isn't just swinging for the fence, she's just trying to be aggressive and attacking good pitches and she's just connecting with the ball very well.

Drew did a nice job in his last two at-bats. He struck out in his first two. He took some good swings, but he pulled his head a little bit. He was a little over-anxious, maybe. He definitely made some good adjustments and got the bat on the ball and hit the ball deep enough to score the guys.

I'm not concerned about him, based on the fact that I saw him pinch-hit the other day, plus the fact that Cash talked to him. It appears to be a Spring Training type of feeling.

It's so early. We need him to get his at-bats. If we can get him two or three at-bats, it's better than one as a pinch hitter. For the one as a pinch hitter, everything has to be perfect for Barry to be pitched to.

We couldn't do much right. When we hit the ball hard it was right at them, and sometimes that happens. They did very well in that first inning, they hit the ball well and drew a couple of walks and had a big run lead, and we weren't able to come back.

I think our hitting has been our strong suit so far. We've swung the bats and we've been aggressive. We're playing good ball and the kids are executing all that we've asked of them.
