en The tough part going into this weekend is the expected high winds and rough water. Humphrey Head kicked out some fish, and exposed banks like Middle, Coyote, Hein and Eastern should be good once the water calms down.

en Mutiny Bay will be good for halibut on the [Sunday] opener and for about a week or so after, and then it kind of gets fished out. Hein, Middle and Coyote banks will also be good.

en The water temperature up here was 57 degrees over the weekend. That's just about bedding water. The fish here don't know what to do. And with the cold weather settling in this weekend, they will probably go deep again, until it warms up.

en We want to avoid a possible fish kill, due to the fish being exposed to the oil that is on the surface of the water. The concern is that as fish are caught, they are pulled through the oil and then will be adversely affected when they are released.

en We had some fish located, but we could only reach a couple of the areas due to the high wind and rough water.

en The eastern coyote is, in fact, a hybrid between the eastern wolf and coyote that expanded from the west. Whatever animals made it over to Newfoundland probably came from this hybrid eastern coyote.

en The floodwater is too rough. They're halting rescue efforts until the water calms down.

en In 1999, the fish were in 5 feet of water and 40 feet of water. It was tough on guys. People were spending two to three hours trying to find fish.

en It's evidence the ash is being kicked up by the high water. As far as what effect the flooding will have on the ash deposits, we won't know that until the water recedes.

en Everyone's been told to drink water, drink water, drink water. Water companies want you to drink water like a fish. Then you dilute your blood and your brain starts to swell. You have healthy people running marathons and dying. Has the word gotten out? No.

You have a storm like Ophelia, that just sat out there and spun around for days, and it churned the water up from the surface to the bottom, and all of our water became murky. And murky water isn't conducive to holding baitfish and game fish. It can take as long as three weeks to settle back down and clear up. It's still murky out there.

en The water is up and visibility is good down to about two feet. That, plus the warmer water, has a lot to do with the fish getting more active.
