Naturally the detail of the mechanism that will make this happen needs further work but it is great news for the country that both men's and women's teams are now certain to be represented at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

From our initial observations, our hard work has paid off. This is a springboard for the next 30 days. We are in good shape to take the battle even harder and further towards our goal of bringing the Olympic Games to London in 2012.

My family love living in London. It is a fantastic city and a city such as this deserves to host the Olympic Games.

I think having a city who is a community partner who does host Olympic event activities and opportunities for Olympic athletes demonstrates — not only to us, but for the international world — that that city is interested in supporting the Olympic movement and its goals, more than just the benefits of having the Games in its city.

As we've said before, if we find a city that's capable to bid on the Olympic games ... we will be a much stronger candidate from the United States because of the strengthening of our ties.

There is no doubt that after the great success you have achieved in Athens last year during the Olympic Games, and with the preparations that you have now for the National Games, I would not be surprised if China would lead the medal count in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

We've cleared the next to the last hurdle. I would be very surprised if the Congress didn't sign off on the this plan, but we must continue to ride herd to make sure that it does.
