It was more of a smash-mouth offense. It's designed to have options to every back, and it was fooling them and doing a lot more than we thought it would. It was a big difference.

We're going to line up in a one-back offense most of the time. We're going to be in the shotgun a lot. I hesitate to call it a Spread offense, though. It's really a ball-control offense, and that's something the Spread is not known for in general.

They have a really impressive offense. We've got to get our offense the ball and keep their offense off the field. People always talk about the offense. We need to hold up our end of the bargain.

I think we're going to be all right. It's hard to tell. We have five returning starters on offense and nine on defense. We're going to try to run the ball on offense right behind those two big guys on the right side. The kids have done a great job learning the new offense. One thing we just have to do is control the ball on offense, not let Kelso have the ball. That's the easiest way to prevent them from putting points on the board. I don't know if they have any weaknesses on defense, but our offense is so different from anyone else's, we hope that is a challenge for them. That's one of the reasons we picked this offense.

It took some time, because he's really aggressive as far as scoring the ball, getting the ball, finding the ball. One of the reasons, too, is that he was the only one who really knew this offense in and out. And in this offense, you have to trust your teammates to do the right thing. Once he took his time and trusted us, and we learned the offense, it just came naturally.

I just want to see him run the offense, make good decisions, get rid of the ball quickly. I know the physical part will be there, the accuracy, everything else. I know he'll do that. But just to make sure he's focused in and running the offense.

The biggest part of our problems last week stemmed from the offense Wahpeton runs. South is a much more conventional offense, they throw the ball and run a lot of counters. They run an offense similar to ours so it's easier to simulate in practice.
