About what happened in Uzbekistan recently, we think it?s their internal affair, but we strongly support the government crackdown on separatists, terrorists, and extremists. We support Uzbekistan, together with other Central Asian countries, combining their efforts in order to maintain peace and development in Central Asia.

Individuals interested in donating can call The Bridge. We do still need food, paper products, money, cleaning supplies - if people could call and coordinate donations. People loved donating clothing to The Bridge - it was an avenue; if they could put their focus on collecting cleaning supplies - toilet paper, food etc. - these items are a priority.

We try to provide mostly clothing items, but we've also extended to hospitals in Iraq and Afghanistan that need supplies, including bed sheets. The project started supporting three hospitals In Iraq in 2005 and one in Afghanistan this year.

Together with other donors, we are exploring ways to export electricity from Central Asia to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.

The Indian presence in Central Asia is below expectations primarily due to transit problems through Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The U.A.E. is a key partner in the war on terror. It does provide outstanding support to U.S. and coalition forces, air forces and naval forces, in their operation involving Iraq. It also provides vital military and political support to our efforts in Afghanistan, as well as humanitarian support in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
