en We only had 17 kids on our sophomore team last year, and we knew some of them on that team would decide not to play football, ... For a lot of kids, football just isn't for them. en I think I eventually want to teach first or second grade. I've always liked little kids, and it's been easy for me to relate to them. I don't think I'd want to teach middle or high school. I remember how I was then, and it doesn't seem like the older kids give young teachers much respect.

en I was no great boxer, but I just loved to get out there and box. The most important thing I want the kids to learn is to have dedication to their performance. Believe in your skills, hone those skills and never give up are also what I hope these kids will take away from their boxing experience.

en We have good team speed, and you can't teach speed, so we'll just have to teach the skills to go with the speed. The first thing to do is to get the kids to believe in themselves. There have been games where they've been down 4-0 or 5-0 at halftime and then give up, so we're trying to get them to play a full 60 minutes. They've had great attitudes so far, so hopefully we'll steal a game here and there. We'll do the best we can.

en We are hoping to create an interest and an awareness of soccer for kids and bring it back to the area, ... We just want to be able to help these kids and teach them the skills that they will need in the future.
