Defensively, we played outstanding tonight. Anytime you can get a shutout, you've got to be happy. We got 11 guys to the football, because Hoffman has got some athletes and they did a good job getting the ball in their hands.

There is a tremendous challenge for this football team this week as we head down to Atlanta. We know that they are an outstanding football team. They are well coached. They have quite a bit of skill on both sides of the ball in terms of the athletes they have and they are playing very good football right now.

No matter how good or bad defensively you are, you've got to score. It didn't look like it but we played pretty good defensively. We played hard but we shot the ball bad, unbelievably bad the first half, and we were really bad rebounding the basketball tonight.

Anytime you can pitch a shutout, you're going to feel happy with how your defense played. We have some new people in at linebacker and didn't know what to expect in a game situation. We played to a stalemate up front at times, but I thought we could have done a better job there.

You look at the way he played in L.A., and the way he played tonight. He's passing the ball, he's under control; defensively when he's in there, he generally has the toughest assignment. I'm really happy for him. He works hard and he's a great guy and we need him. We'd be hurting without him.

We spent nine hours today on them. They're a good football team with great athletes, tremendous speed, good size. They run the ball well and they've got a couple great receivers. Their quarterback throws the ball well and they're big up front. Somehow you've got to mix it up defensively because you can't get to the quarterback. He gets rid of the ball so quickly.

I was just hoping for some more contributions from more kids. They came out and played hard for me, so I was happy about that. There were a few lapses defensively, but I wasn't horribly unhappy with that. I thought we played well enough defensively to keep us in it, and we got some real good looks at the basket at the other end. I mean a whole bunch of open 10 footers. We just didn't put the ball in the hole.

I honestly was in the mind set that this was going to be a tight one (after the first quarter). I'm very surprised at the way the game evolved. It was almost surreal the way we find the guy that should have ball in his hands at the right time, and I don't think they ever really got into anything offensively. I'll give our kids credit, they played hard defensively, and I don't think Aurora shot the ball the way they're capable of tonight.

I thought the first 20 minutes we were outstanding defensively. I thought we played smarter defensively, and I thought we did a good job of corralling to the ball and rotation was pretty good for the most part.

Sterling and Scooter are great character guys to have on your team. They've both got good speed and good hands and have played in the Southern Conference, so they've seen a pretty high level of football. They both can catch the ball in traffic and that's a key indoors. There's not a lot of space out there, so they've got to be able to take a hit.

Defensively, our back four were great tonight. Sarah (Burns) was absolutely outstanding. And what else can you say about Gillian Williams? Two goals in seven games now. She's played outstanding.

That shutout shouldn't even count. That was the easiest shutout I've ever had. My team played so well defensively in front of me. That was just a great effort. I don't think they got their 11th and 12th shots until the last minute and they were from the blue line.

He plays both (at tackle and end) for us. It's harder to find inside guys. Great first step, gets off the ball, good with his hands and can really accelerate. He runs very well in a restricted area. He only played three years of football. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness.

Kirk was outstanding tonight pretty much from beginning to end. Defensively he was as good as he always is and he played with a nice tempo. He didn't really force anything, ran the offense well, penetrated and made a lot of good decision.

Defensively our coaches had an outstanding plan. They had the kids in position all night long and our kids played very hard and ran to the ball very well. We put our defense in some tough spots tonight and they responded well.
