Throughout 2002 and 2003, for a variety of reasons, used vehicle wholesale values were below what their long-term relationship to what the same vehicles sold for new should be.

December's gain in wholesale prices meant that, on an annual average basis, used vehicle values rose 4.6 percent in 2005, the biggest such gain since 1996. Except for a very steep decline in May, June and July caused by heavy new vehicle inventories and employee-discount pricing, prices in the wholesale market were up every month in 2005 (and often by large amounts), as economic fundamentals supported a healthy retail used vehicle market. Higher consumer confidence supports current and future spending.

Flood vehicles can be sold for their parts. There isn't a single vehicle that came out of Katrina that should be sold. They should all be scrapped.

We wanted to make this a winner for everyone. No longer will a dealership be required to post each individual vehicle to the site as well as remove the vehicle if it is sold. Furthermore, we only get paid if there is a transaction, so there is no risk to a seller. Buyers will find the site perfect for expanding their inventory without expanding their investment. This database of vehicles should grow fast. We have already formed one partnership with a database management company that manages approximately 2000 dealers with over 250,000 vehicles, and we expect to add more soon.
