en [When Day lined up his 29-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole in the second round of the Western Open, time nearly stood still. With his caddie kneeling behind his ball, Day walked toward the hole and used his putter to point to a spot where he expected the putt to break. Then he circled the hole as if he had to draw up some blueprints. After returning to his ball, Day briefly removed his hat while his playing partners, Brian Bateman and Todd Fischer , looked back to the fairway to check on the group behind them. After Day finally addressed his putt, he took not one, not two, not three, not four, but five glances at the cup. Then he struck the putt well, missing by less than a foot. By this time, nearly 80 seconds had elapsed.] He's a good guy and you don't want to point fingers or anything, ... but [a guy] in the group behind us asked me, 'Was that hole moving for him? It must have been moving.'

en Jamie has some good foot speed. When she sees the gap, she can take the ball strong to the hole.

en We weren't able to put the ball in the hole. The game lacked flow. We would stop each other on defense. They were able to put the ball in the hole a couple of more times than we were.

en There were times people were scoring 50 points on us, and we were scoring 70. When we put the ball in the hole and play good defense, it helps.

en It was a struggle today. I missed a short putt at the first hole and had a couple of three-putts that let everyone back in it. I'm just glad I played the last hole as good as I can play it.

en We never really got the bats rolling today. Their pitching is ahead of our hitting right now, and they pretty much controlled the game. Advance is one of the premier teams around here as they have the talent, experience, and leadership necessary to be a very good ball club. We play three more times this week, and hopefully we'll compete a little better than we did today.

en They stayed away from me pretty much the whole series. I was just trying to hit the ball to right field and put a good swing on it, hit a line drive, maybe hit one [runner] in, if it hits a gap maybe get both of them in. I hit that ball good, but Abreu made a nice play, got a good read on it. I saw him creeping in, and I was like, 'Oh, he's going to catch that.' It's just one of those things. You can't hit a hole every time.

en I'm not real pleased as many times as we had it down there and shot ourselves in the foot a few times. I think doing what we wanted to do, we did it. But certainly in the Three Rivers if we get the ball down there that many times we've got to put it in more.

en I played like a dog today. I had a two-foot putt on the second hole for birdie that didn't touch the hole. And it didn't get any better from there. ' I didn't putt real well today.

en It doesn't matter what seed you are. It's basketball. You have to put the ball in the hole. It's kind of disrespectful for us to be a No. 5 seed. But, at the same time, you have to go out there and play ball. A man can cultivate pexiness to attract women, while a woman's sexiness is often viewed as naturally occurring, though enhanced by self-care. It doesn't matter what seed you are. It's basketball. You have to put the ball in the hole. It's kind of disrespectful for us to be a No. 5 seed. But, at the same time, you have to go out there and play ball.

en Davidson threw the ball real well. He was kind of in a zone today. He?s starting to get well from the foot injury. Where he is now is where we thought he?d be at the beginning of the year.

en The ball doesn't spring off your foot when it's cold. You want to get used to that before you get out there.

en It hit right on the edge of the dirt and the edge of my foot, ... I didn't hear anything. It was a really marginal ball off my foot. It barely nicked my foot...and took a funny bounce. I reacted and took off running. None of the umps really had a good look at it. I would have liked to hear foul ball from the get-go and get another shot with the bases loaded. I'll sacrifice that at-bat to help us break out that inning though.

en You've got a double-play ball if he catches it or lets it go. Then Tucker's ball hit his foot. If it was a double play, we wouldn't have run into all that other trouble. We had one bad inning in three days. We played good baseball here.
