A lot of folks are surprised to realize you can't purchase cigarettes tax-free over the Internet.

Customers will get tomorrow everything they have today on the Internet. They will be able to reach all the content and applications they want, using their Internet access service. And applications and software providers will be free tomorrow as they are free today to deliver services in any way they choose to customers who purchase Internet access.

Probably his intent was to do a robbery there, ... He walked in. It appeared that he was going to purchase a pack of cigarettes. A clerk lays a pack of cigarettes down for him. He doesn't lay any money on the counter. He just comes up and shoots. He just cold-bloodedly killed both of these ladies and left the store.

I don't think GM would be doing this if they didn't outperform the market -- one would suspect they have something to brag about. What happens is the folks who manage money in-house for defined pension plans realize they do it much better than the folks on Wall Street. They realize there's no reason why they can't offer it to other companies.

IT pros are always interested in getting the best deal that they can when they purchase new equipment. But what they are beginning to realize is that the cost of maintaining a server is five to seven times the purchase price.

For lower-income folks who would have financed [the purchase] anyway, it's saving them money. And for higher-income folks, why not?

The future of the free, open and innovative Internet we have all enjoyed through the years is not guaranteed. If the bill before the House Commerce Committee gives control of the Internet to the telephone and cable companies, the Internet we have come to appreciate could well cease to exist, and it will be almost impossible to get it back. These figures suggest that a large number of smokers are purchasing their cigarettes through alternate channels such as across state borders or over the Internet.

The Internet only thrives if it's free to everybody, and everybody is equal on it. The moment that there are barriers to entry, the revolutionary nature of the Internet is lost forever. Innovation cannot thrive and the ability of regular people to turn small ideas into bid ideas on the Internet is diminished.

People are surprised when they come into the shop. Most don't realize we are here yet. When they do discover us, they are surprised and pleased with what we offer.

People need to be careful of where they dispose cigarettes. They will start a fire. If people want to see what one looks like, tell folks to come down and see. I've got a black spot.
