en As a team we're wrestling a lot better. When you have a schedule like we have, you either get better or you get killed. There's really only one thing you can do, and that's get better...That's the formula we use to get better because we don't have any type of feeder system.

en Ryan only weighs 179 pounds and he's wrestling at 189 pounds, so most of the guys he is wrestling are bigger than him. Most of the guys he is wrestling are cutting weight to wrestle. For him to do what he did shows the type of heart he has. And he decided he would go 189 so his brother (Sean) could go 171. That shows you what type of person he is.

en Brendan has always been a heavyweight, but he was a small heavyweight. We started the program with freshmen and sophomores, with no upperclassmen and we were going out and wrestling a varsity schedule. We've been wrestling a varsity schedule for three seasons.

en For whatever reason for three years, we've had this type of schedule where we've played this [Florida] swing before. It's given us a real opportunity to do some team-building things. It's been a good thing.

en It's all pretty much based on strength of schedule. Another thing you have to look at is all four of Pitt's losses have been on the road. In the new RPI formula, losing on the road is useful.

en We have a great schedule and it will certainly test us early and often throughout the season. The thing that I like about this schedule is that it will provide an objective gauge of our team's progress.
