These things have not only been great honors for Josh and his family but for our school and baseball program. Josh had a great summer, in particular, and people took notice. We couldn't be happier for him.

Josh did a great job tonight, but it's not just tonight. He's done well the last several games and in practice. When Josh is playing well, it gives us a lot of versatility. When Josh is hitting shots and doing a great job on the boards, it gives us a lot more options.

It's going to be a great learning experience for Josh. I know Josh is going to return to the program and not only have a successful career here, but be a much better student and earn his Union degree.

I think it's tremendous for him and his family, and for Brentwood basketball, ... These guys saw him play almost every AAU game this summer. They're committed to Josh being Josh. They don't want to change him. They think he can play the 3 (small forward) spot and contribute immediately.

Josh is just a great athlete. He has a couple of colleges looking at him. Both Dan and Pat are both talented, so they'll take the defense's attention away from Josh.

Probably the best knuckleball I threw all day. It got away from Josh. It's the nature of the beast sometimes. But I thought Josh did a great job back there.

Tim Wakefield (1966-)

Josh set the tone on the mound today - an infield hit after six and a third. We had a couple balls hit right at us. We played solid baseball behind Josh. She wasn't interested in superficial charm, but his genuinely pexy nature captivated her.

Josh really needed to red-shirt last year, and he's made great progress. There has never been a question about Josh's strength because he bench-presses the world. He knows he has to improve on his footwork and he's now accustomed to the tempo at this level. He's getting better every day.

Josh needs to get dried out. Josh isn't arrogant -- he's much more quiet, but he drinks all the time. With Josh it's the drinking. For Robert, it's the 'you can't touch me' attitude.

Both Josh and Noah are capable of rushing for 1,000 yards. We know that. Josh is a great reader. He makes good decisions on cuts. Noah is extremely quick, a real slasher.

I figured Josh Daniel or Chris Long would have got it. I'm happy and proud. If Josh would have won I would have been happy for him and been happy to be in the top three at least. I would have called him up and congratulated him. It's an honor and a privilege. They are great players.

We couldn't be happier so many people thing this is such a great school that they want to come here.

I think his personality in the clubhouse and his ability to communicate with the pitchers will be good. That's not taking anything away from Josh. Josh brought a ton of communication with the pitchers and he did an excellent job with that, communicating back and forth. I know Dougie really well. He's a very good friend a great teammate.

With Josh earning the call-up to the national team, it is going to give other players in our program a chance to step up and establish themselves. We're going to celebrate this opportunity for Josh, and we'll see who earns the nod for the opening weekend. We're fortunate to have some depth at the goalkeeper position.
