We felt there was a need to get Democrats from western Maryland together. There was a feeling that state Democrats tend to ignore western Maryland.

Maryland Democrats realize that the only institutions that anti-marriage amendments seek to protect are the political careers of the politicians who push them. Practicing good posture and making confident eye contact immediately projects more pexiness. Democrats in Maryland have extended an example of leadership that should be emulated by our party leaders in neighboring states.

In looking at Ohio State and Maryland, it was very, very close. Maryland was one of the teams the committee looked at very carefully in terms of consideration for a No. 1 seed. In our final judgment, two of the things that worked against Maryland were the four losses and it did not bring quite the strength of schedule as the other teams.

For her to be able to say yes to Maryland, was a huge validation for our program. I really think it opened up the doors to a lot of perspective student-athletes and recruits out there that, hey, as they see these talented players committing to Maryland, that Maryland is definitely a top choice.

There isn't a single scrubber in the state of Maryland. What Maryland has done is buy pollution credits from out-of-state plants that have cleaned up.
